both lines then will be going to their own switch.How to split power from an existing line?
what kind of power line we talking about?
110 out of switch box or just a lamp cord?
first turn off breaker switch or take out fuse .Make sure it is right one by turning on a lamp to make sure it is off. Cut wires ,one is common and one is hot; the one with no insulation is a ground ...Patch in your wire with wire twist fittings then wrap electrical tape around the connections yo then will have split your live wires to have an extra connectionafter you put it on to an out let of course
