How do i learn to do the splits?

Ive always wanted to learn how to do them. Does anyone know a good stretching routine or a good way of being able to do them. I want to become more flexible for cheer tryouts which start in 2 months.Do you think i could get them by then?How do i learn to do the splits?

You defiantly can learn the splits in 2 months. What you have to do is stretch like you would normally do before doing a normal workout then try going down into the splits going down until you can feel your muscles pulling. Then hold that position for at least 25 Mississippi (ie count 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi, etc) then if you think you can go down farther then go further and repeat counting. Do this everyday and you can achieve the splits in no time!!
if you stretch everyday you can get them! sit in a straddle and hold each side for a minute. now do butterflies, pikes, and lunges. Now hold your splits for a minute each. Now do oversplits which is where your leading leg is on a higher surface. hold this for a minute then switch. Do this a few times. also go for a jog or do some cardio before your start stretching so your muscles will be warm and easier to stretch! good luck!

also stretch your legs by touching your toes or doing the excerise named the butter fly and then when you sit down spread your legs out as far as you can and lean in also join jazz dance to become more flexible or ballet?
