What are the best stretches for the splits?

I'm a teenager who's currently taking gymnastics training classes and hope to make the school team next year. I'm OK -- but I can't do the splits. Does anyone know several effective stretches that might help? What are the best stretches for the splits?
well, stretch every day but maybe increase the intensity of your stretching. one way is to sit splits facing away from a wall but close enough so that you can bend your back knee up and lean it on the wall in a 90 degree angle. this will help to square your hips (both face forward) which is required in a split. another thin you can do is put your front foot on a matt, pillow, couch etc. and hold splits. breath out deeply every once in a while to help you sink lower. keep practicing and you will get it. =]What are the best stretches for the splits?
I can do it now :)

Try doing the splits on a bed!

Get on a bed and do the splits but keep your hands on both sides for support, then slowly lower yourself and allow the springs to bounce you up and down a little bit. Also, since the bed isn't as flat and hard as a floor, your legs will be able to sink in a little bit.
get on ur knees then straighten one les and hug the sraightend leg

(reapeat on each leg)
ok wen ur in ur splits have a person go above u and push u down slowly it works trust me!
