How do you make a split-ring commutator?

We're making a DC motor using a split-ring commutator for a high school physics class. What is the simplest motor we can build and how do we do it?How do you make a split-ring commutator?
Of course, physics.... sure... if u were say using a DC motor for extracurricular uses, then yes use a split-ring, because it is more effective for your pleasures in this ';expierement'; persay. :)

ok, on grounds of ';How do we do it'; it is quite simple. Here is the basics.

1. Obtain necessary parts(long rod is preferred, a short one would suffice however it is less effective in movement.)

2. find a nice ';workplace'; to get it done, something maybe scented, or dimly lit always sets the mood well.

3. Insert the rod into the split ring

4. turn on

5. Results should be satisfactory. ';Persay';
