i cannot find anything in my book about it when i think it should! What happens when continental plates split appart?
Three different types of boundaries:
1. Transform - plates slide past each other. The San Andreas fault is an example. Causes earthquakes.
2. Divergent boundaries - when plates slide apart from each other. Here you will find mid-ocean ridges and rift zones.
3. Convergent boundaries - When plates slide toward each other. Form subduction zones. Here you will find deep sea trenches, and mountain ranges as a result of the collisions. What happens when continental plates split appart?
