Is there any way to split an ethernet port without using a switch or hub?

Currently I'm at college, and switches / hubs / routers are not allowed. We are hard wired, and my bed is clear across the room from where the port %26amp; my desk are. I was wondering if there was any way to split the port I use so that one cable could lead to my desk and the other to my bed. It would only be my laptop using this port, and (of course) both would never be used at the same time. Is this possible? And if so, can you explain how it's done?Is there any way to split an ethernet port without using a switch or hub?
As long as only one is running at a time then yes this is possible.

I dont know of any cables that are premade, but u could possibly find a 3 way female double adapter RJ45 connector. However i have serious doubts as to whether or not this would work due to signal degradation.

If the rules just say no switches, hubs or routers, then you could install a second NIC in the PC then use internet connection sharing.

Connect one NIC to you net connection and the other to the lappy.

It works and you using a loophole which is cool.Is there any way to split an ethernet port without using a switch or hub?
It is not possible to ';split'; a single IP address obtained by using a single port without using a router / switch / hub. They state that routers are not allowed, but how about setting up a wireless router (with security, of course) to clone the MAC address of your laptop and then connect the router to your LAN drop? Once the MAC address is cloned, it is impossible for a remote device to tell the difference between the router and your laptop.
no as you woulds set up a standing wave on the cable which is why you need a router or a hub/switch
i think you can buy something called a two way splitter, but im not sure
