My avocado has been accidently split, do I have to eat it now and how should I store it?

So I had avocado in my grocery bag with some cans and they pressed onto the avocado and split it. The avocado wasn't quite ripe and I wasn't planning to eat yet but do you think I have to now?My avocado has been accidently split, do I have to eat it now and how should I store it?
Just wrap it in saran wrap and stick it in the fridge. When you want to eat it, scrape off the brown layer and it should be fine.My avocado has been accidently split, do I have to eat it now and how should I store it?
Ah, the avocado. Air is the enemy of it. Oxygen will turn it brown, but citric acid will stop it from happening. The only trouble with that is, you may not want the flavor of the lime or lemon juice on your avocado. Wrapping it in plastic is the best solution. Placing it in the fridge, will help also.

Why, did you ask? Because at room temps, the unripe fruit puts out ethanol gas. This aids the fruit to ripen. One of the tips for unripe avocados is to put them in a paper bag, at room temperature until soft and ready to eat.

Placing the fruit in a container, won't stop it from turning brown, even in the fridge because there is still air in the container that has oxygen in it.
No, just store it in air tight container and eat in the next couple of days.

Apparently leaving the pip in reduces the ripening process too.
No and avocado keeps best and longer if stored in a glass container.
basically yeah, unless you like brown avocado...
If you just leave the seed in it, it should be ok.
no just put some saran wrap over it and put it in the fridge. it should be fine
Go buy another if it isn't ripe....and make sure you don't pack fruit with cans again.
if that's the worst problem in ur life then u have a pretty good life...

u can jst glad rap it nd put it in the fridge
