OK. first you need to practice practice PRACTICE!! i have all of my splits and to practice i just get in my splits and watch a music video on jump stART or listen to my ipod. the time actually goes pretty fast and your muscles gradually get used to it and your legs slowly go down to the floor. It really works! trust me! i did it one night and in just that one night, i got down at least four inches!! hope i helped! also, there is a bunch of videos on youtube about splits and stretching.How to make my straddle split better so i can ace tryouts?
Do them facing a wall and try to get flat against it. When you watch TV, sit in a split. It's all about stretch. When you go into a split put your elbows on the floor and lean over and put the insides of your feet on the floor. Not your heels. Make sure your big toes touch the floor and use your arms to prop yourself up and slowly slide down until it hurts. Keep doing it until it doesn't hurt anymore. Rest, do it again. You'll be shocked at how fast it'll stretch. Just make sure you're kind of hovering over and not really sitting upright. I don't know when tryouts are but keep doing that and do some V-sits, pike stretches where you pull your toes back and stretch your hamstrings too.
well what i did was practice them 3 times a day every day until tryouts i got better and better.at first i couldnt do one at all but after 4 days i could do one easily. hoped i helped. good luck at tryouts
